Bikes, River health : What?

England's rivers are in dire straights - not a single one was classed as healthy in 2021. Not one. At the same time, the rise of long hours, more time indoors and non-stop communication have left people feeling more pressured than ever before. Both humans and water are under pressure, and both need a release valve.

Being based in Northumberland National Park, we are lucky to have one of England's cleanest river catchments surrounding us - The Coquet - and access to the Cheviot Hills for diverse riding.

The area is rural, and as such we are embedded with the local community, and of our friends who are anglers, we were consistently being told that the river - such a vital component of this area - was increasingly vulnerable.

So, we just knew we had to make a film about this wonderful area where both the riding and fishing are amazing, but as said, vulnerable.

Complex problems, simple solutions

Use it

This project required more than just a film to land well. With a diverse audience being introduced to a new route, in what would be a unheard of region to most of them, the project needed brilliantly executed imagery, strong social assets and PR that stretched from core mtb magazines into broader adventure riding publications.

THE OUTCOME

A complete package

  • Full 15 minute film - Official selection at By Bike and Fort William Mountain festival
  • Over 30 social media film assets supplied to project partners
  • Each partner got 30 unique hi-res images for use
  • 4 print pieces spread across Singletrack mag, Base Magazine, Cranked and Nat Geo Travel
  • Wide spread web distribution
