Deep summer is the most prestigius photography competition in the whole of mountain biking. 6 photographers are invited to Whistler for 3 days to shoot, edit and compile a 3-5 minute slideshow.
What we did
The pressure felt by photographers during deep summer is intense. Tommy had never ridden outside of the bike park in Whistler, and given he now has a paralysed arm, he knew scouting and building a detailed and structured plan would be imperative for this competition. With 3 days scouting that covered 200km, Tommy then built a team of solid riders thanks to his contact base built when he was a rider himself.
Bringing in a video editor was also key, and Tom Richards fitted the dynamic of the group perfectly.
When all was said and done, after 72 hours, only 5 hours sleep, Tommy was crowned winner of Deep Summer 2016.
